– Things to do in Andaman –
Sea Walk – You must have heard about scuba diving or seen it in a film. We’re going one step further: walking at the bottom of the sea! Fascinating and exciting, isn’t it?
‘Sea Walking’ is an activity that lets you walk at the bottom of the sea and see marine life closely. Even if you don’t know how to swim or are afraid of water, you’re eligible to try it out. Sea Walking is easy and more importantly, an excellent opportunity to experience the underwater world.
Imagine this: an oxygen helmet around your head, holding your friends’ hands, walking at the sea’s surface, close enough to touch fishes and corals. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it?
That’s what a Sea Walking experience is like. It’s fun, although you need to make sure you don’t think about how you are far away from sunlight and fresh air, at the mercy of a heavy helmet which defies gravity and keeps you from floating right back up.
SeaKart Adventure – Introduced in 2020, Seakart is an adrenaline filled water-sports available for the first time in India and launched in the third destination in the world after Mauritius & Dubai at Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Seakart itself is a novel watercraft that is built like a go kart, hence the name, which delivers the best of everything in one single adventure. The activity involves the guest self-driving the Seakart under the guidance of a licensed instructor along the coast of Port Blair on a long route. The Seakart is made to fit 3 people, but unlike jet skis and speed boats who are allowed only near the shorelines, Seakart actually goes a step further and allows you to explore the wavy deep seas far from the shoreline, driving all by yourself, making it one of the most unique experiences to have in Port Blair.
The ride starts from the shore of Corbyn’s Cove Beach, where you are accompanied by a trained instructor, leaving seats for 2 guests who can enjoy it together. A total of 6 Seakarts drive in a V formation piloted by “Starfish” – the rescue boat, which keeps everything in check. Each Seakart has their own steering wheel that lets you guide the boat in any way you like to an allowed degree. Anybody can drive a Seakart and it does not require any prior swimming or driving skills.
Scuba Diving is one of the most popular water sports activities in the world and Andaman Islands aren’t untouched by that. Besides the calm, peaceful beaches and delicious seafood, diving is what attracts a good chunk of visitors to the Isles. The underwater coastal belts surrounding Andamans is home to one of the densest ecosystem of coral reefs and formations.
Most of the islands are enclosed by long stretches of reefs, usually several hundred meters wide and separated by the shore with shallow waters and complimented by volcanic lava hills that make the experience unique and hard to find anywhere else.
Although there are 10 beautiful islands with more than 40 places to dive in Andaman, the perfect diving experience depends greatly on several factors such as Water Depth, Clarity of water, Safety, Population of Corals, Fish Population, Water Current, Weather, etc.
Snorkeling – Better than swimming and much more affordable than Scuba, Snorkeling is a sport that takes you to the magnificent underwater world without the need for any complex setup or apparatus. What makes the experience great is that you don’t have to prepare anything in advance, you can just grab the gear, go dive into the water, and feel the weight of your body fade away.
Andaman Islands offer some of the best places to snorkel so you can easily explore the world of sea-dwellers. The highly-populated ecosystem of shoreline in the isles is home to a wide variety of corals, both hard & soft that houses a plethora of beautiful fish species to gaze at.
The preserved coastal belts surrounded by long stretches of diverse ecosystem is a wonderful sight to experience and we recommend it everyone, who comes on a vacation to Andaman.
Kayaking – If you are looking for some adventure time then this Kayaking in Andaman is the perfect fit for you. Take this incredible tour of Havelock island and once there begin your initial training about Kayaking. Start Kayaking through the beautiful surroundings and explore the rich diversity of the Mangroves. Listen to the chirping of birds and witness some rare species of wildlife here.
You will take this tour for around 2 hours and 30 minutes. Conclude this activity after some wonderful time and cherish these memories forever.
